A closer look at Agent Notch 2.0

Agent Notch 2.0 changes the panel you'll see every day: the agent rows are clearer, the controls are larger, and dark glass is now the default appearance. It also adds five notification sounds, with separate settings for each kind of request.

Here's what has changed and how you can adjust it to fit the way you work.

Know what needs your attention

When an agent finishes a task, you might want to leave the result until you've finished what you're doing. A question or an approval request usually needs a response before the agent can continue. Hearing the same alert for both doesn't tell you much about what happened.

Version 2.0 gives completions, questions, approvals, ready plans, and other requests their own sounds. You can choose a sound for each category in Settings, or silence it altogether. For example, you could turn off completion sounds while keeping questions and approvals audible.

If you prefer to work without audio alerts, you can silence all five categories and keep using the visual status in the notch.

More room for your agents

The Larger panel size is now the default, along with dark glass. The redesigned rows and controls give you more room to read and interact with your sessions, particularly when you have several agents running.

You can expand an agent's task plan and subagents directly below its row. Hover cards are larger too, making session details and progress easier to read without opening another window.

Checking status without opening the panel

The collapsed notch shows working agents, requests, and unread completions. You can check it while you're working, then open the full panel when you want more detail or need to respond.

This release also fixes premature Codex completion alerts during long tool calls and background monitoring. There are fixes for panels extending beyond smaller displays, tooltip sizing, and clipped text as well.
