Privacy Policy
AgentNotch is built local-first: the app never reads your code and never sends your work anywhere. This policy covers the small amount of data the website and licensing system need to sell, activate, and support it.
Last updated July 7, 2026
The short version
- The app is 100% local. AgentNotch does not read your source code, prompts, or agent output, and never uploads them. It never touches your API keys, tokens, or agent accounts.
- We only collect what a purchase and a licence need: your email, your payment (through Stripe), and a licence record tied to the Mac you activate on.
- We don't sell your dataand we don't run ad or cross-site tracking. Website analytics are privacy-friendly and cookieless.
Who we are
AgentNotch is made by Piotr Jura, trading as Agentic Developer, based in Poland. For anything in this policy — including exercising your data rights — the data controller is Piotr Jura (Agentic Developer), Poland. You can reach us at [email protected].
What the app collects
AgentNotch runs entirely on your Mac. It watches your local Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex sessions to show status in the notch. That data stays on your machine and is never transmitted to us.
The app contacts our servers for one purpose only: licensing. When you activate, verify, or renew a licence, it sends:
- your licence key (or a one-time activation code);
- a machine identifier for the Mac you're activating, so we can honour your per-seat limit and let you move between machines;
- an optional device name you choose, purely to help you recognise your own activations.
That's it. No code, no prompts, no telemetry, no usage tracking. If you only ever use the free trial, the app makes no licensing calls at all.
What the website collects
- Purchase details. When you buy, checkout is handled by Stripe. We receive your email, the fact and amount of the purchase, and a Stripe customer reference so we can issue and manage your licence. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Licence records. Your email, licence key, entitlement, and the machines bound to it are stored in our database so activation and renewal work.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email to send product updates and announcements. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time.
- Server & analytics logs. Our host records standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability, and we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page views in aggregate. Neither is used to profile or identify you.
Payments
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Depending on our configuration, Stripe (or Stripe's managed-payments service) may act as the merchant of record for your purchase and is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable taxes such as VAT. Your card details are entered on Stripe's systems and are never sent to or stored by us. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.
Cookies
The marketing and checkout pages don't set advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics are cookieless. Stripe may set cookies that are strictly necessary to process your payment and prevent fraud during checkout.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that operate AgentNotch on our behalf, each acting under its own data-protection terms:
- Stripe: Payment processing & merchant of record (handles checkout, card data, and tax).
- Neon: Managed Postgres database that stores your licence and entitlement records.
- Vercel: Website hosting and privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic analytics.
- Kit (ConvertKit): Email delivery for the newsletter and product announcements (only if you subscribe).
We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, and the integrity of our service.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data on these bases:
- Contract — to sell you AgentNotch, issue and validate your licence, and provide support.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate usage.
- Consent — to send you the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
- Legal obligation — to keep transaction and tax records for the period the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep licence and purchase records for as long as your licence is valid and for as long afterwards as we're legally required to (for example, tax and accounting rules). Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short period and then rotated out.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at [email protected]and we'll respond within the timeframe the law requires. If you're in the EU/EEA and believe we've handled your data improperly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Children
AgentNotchis a professional developer tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page and, where it matters to your purchase or licence, notify you by email. Continuing to use AgentNotch after a change means you accept the updated policy.
